CHILLICOTHE ― Shocking news hit the Allison family on June 1, when something they never thought was possible happened: their three-year-old son, Brandon Jr, was diagnosed with Stage IV Wilms Tumor cancer.

Now the family is asking for help with a GoFundMe to help with the ever-growing medical bills that come with a cancer diagnosis, Brandon’s mother, Larisa Allison, said.

Brandon Allison Jr. was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer in early June, now his family is asking for help to pay medical bills.

Allison said Wilms Tumor is a rare kidney cancer that affects mainly children.

“He had a five-inch tumor on his kidney,” Allison said. “They did a couple weeks of chemo before they took out his tumor and his kidney out.”

Allison said the whole situation has been overwhelming.

“He was a perfect, healthy baby boy,” Allison said. “Nothing ever wrong with him, nothing ever even bothered him. Chemo isn’t even bothering him. He’s still crazy, running around right after chemo, like nothing’s ever happened to him. He says he’s not sick.”

Allison said her husband has not been able to go to work since his son’s first surgery in early July.

“My son’s first surgery was July 24, so he got that and he healed for a couple of weeks,” Allison said. “Then he also had another surgery, where they cut a little piece out of his ling because their was a little nodule in it.”

The GoFundMe will help Brandon’s family pay hospital bills during this time, as he undergoes more chemotherapy and radiation.
