Delhi govt hikes cash awards for Olympic winners; announces Group A jobs for gold and silver medallists – details here
In a major move to promote sports and reward excellence, the Delhi government on Monday announced enhanced cash prizes and government jobs for Olympic medallists from the capital. As per the new policy, athletes winning Olympic gold will receive ₹7 crore, silver medallists will be awarded ₹5 crore, and bronze winners will get ₹3 crore, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood announced.
In addition to the cash incentives, the government will also offer Group A jobs to gold and silver medallists, while bronze medallists will be eligible for Group B positions in government services.
