The All India Agarbathi Manufacturing Association (AIAMA) has announced “AIAMA EXPO 2025”, an International Agarbathi Expo & Conference, scheduled from November 6-8, 2025, at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru.

The three-day event, conceptualised around the theme ‘Traditionally Modern’, will serve as a comprehensive platform for the agarbathi industry. The apex body will also introduce Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification as the quality mark for the agarbathi industry during the expo.

The agarbathi industry has witnessed remarkable growth, with the domestic market estimated at ₹8,000 crore in retail value. The sector has emerged as India’s highest exported commodity, reaching nearly 120 countries with net exports of approximately ₹1,000 crore.

“The demand for prayer products, especially agarbathi, has seen a sharp increase in the last five years in India and across the globe,” according to a study conducted by the association. The industry directly and indirectly employs close to 2 lakh people, with women comprising the majority of the workforce.

Ambica Ramanjaneyulu, President of AIAMA, emphasised the initiative’s broader impact, “Through this initiative, we aim to instill pride and deepen the sense of belonging among all stakeholders in the agarbathi ecosystem.”

Arjun Ranga, Chairperson, AIAMA EXPO 2025, said, “Over the years, the global demand for agarbathi has witnessed a significant rise. In light of these emerging trends, we aim to position India as the global hub for agarbathi manufacturing.

The initiatives were announced by AIAMA’s office bearers, Ambica Ramanjaneyulu, President of AIAMA & Director of Ambica Agarbathies Aroma & Industries; Arjun Ranga, AIAMA EXPO 2025 Chairperson & Immediate Past President of AIAMA & MD of Cycle Pure Agarbathis; Krishna T. V, Vice President, AIAMA & Director of Amrutha Aromatics; Sharath Babu P. S, Past President of AIAMA & Director of Beeju Sugandhi; and Sapthagiri S. Boggaram, Past President of AIAMA & Director of Sugandha Lok.
