Tulsa King Rises On Paramount+ Streaming Charts Ahead Of Season 3 Premiere

Taylor Sheridan’s underrated crime drama has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity on streaming, ahead of its new season premiere. Since his screenwriting debut with the action crime-thriller Sicario, in 2015, Sheridan has pivoted into TV, and has gone on to establish himself as one of the most prominent and exciting writers in the industry.

Sheridan has developed a reputation for strong and compelling shows, featuring ensemble casts peppered with big names. He is the creator of successful Paramount+ shows like Yellowstone, 1923, Landman, and Mayor of Kingstown, and many of his shows have performed very well on streaming over the past few years.

Starring Sylvester Stallone in his scripted TV series debut, Tulsa King follows Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi, a former mafia capo, who moves to Tulsa to start a criminal organization after being released from a quarter of a century in prison. Tulsa King season 2 finished in November 2024, but the show has seen an uptick in popularity of late.

Per Paramount+, the show has entered the streamer’s list of Top 10 TV Shows, coming in at #10 in the charts at the time of writing. Tulsa King has clocked an impressive 56 million minutes viewed, tied with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, at #9, and just below Dexter, at #8, with 78 million minutes viewed.

What This Means For Tulsa King’s Future

Tulsa King is one of Sheridan’s most interesting and complex shows, and the fact it is enjoying a resurgence bodes well for the Tulsa King season 3 premiere. The show’s critically-acclaimed second season has expanded the narrative, and set up some intriguing plot lines for season 3, which has likely caused viewers to revisit the show ahead of the premiere.

Tulsa King has been renewed through season 4, so there’s plenty of story to plan and flesh out, and there is a good chance that the series could progress beyond that point.
