Telangana start-ups raised $571 million in 2024

Start-ups in Hyderabad raised $571 million in 2024, a 1.6 times increase from 2023, across 81 funding rounds. While funding in healthtech start-ups increased 21 times to $300 million, fintech startups saw a doubling of investments to $105 million, according to D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Government of Telangana.

Addressing the valedictory of August Fest 2025 on Saturday, he stated that between January 2020 and May 2025, Hyderabad had produced over 2,500 start-ups, attracting a total of $2.1 billion in aggregate funding.

“As of June 2025, Telangana has 1,404 DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) -recognised start-ups,” he said.

“Women-led ventures are thriving, with Hyderabad ranking 6th in the country. As many as 531 such start-ups raised $417 million so far. Through the STPI Hyderabad, over 1,400 start-ups have received support worth ₹574 crore, with 44% of them being women-led, the Minister said.

Over 7,000 delegates attended the August Fest, which was revived after a seven-year hiatus.
