The most anticipated film of Rajinikanth’s Coolie hit theatres on August 14. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. Upon its release, the film clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s film War 2. Coolie is Rajinikanth’s 171st film and is made with a budget of around Rs 400 crore. How much did Coolie earn on day 3?
According to Sacnilk, on its third day, the film collected Rs 15.9 crore early estimates, which is much less than its first two days. On its opening day, Coolie collected Rs 65 crore and on day two, the film collected Rs 54.75 crore. Now the film has collected a total of Rs 135.65 crore. With Sunday approaching, the film is expected to cross Rs 150 crore by the end of the weekend. The film received positive reviews from the critics and the audience.
With which film did Coolie crash?
Despite its clash with War 2, Coolie is leading the box office collection. On day three, both films see a dip, which might be due to Janmashtami, which is celebrated all over the country. The plot centres around Deva, who used to be involved in gold smuggling, and wants to get back to his past life of influence and power. He decides to revive his old gang using stolen technology that’s hidden inside some old, vintage golden watches. However, this plan leads to some unexpected and possibly troublesome outcomes.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram in the lead roles. Coolie was made with a budget of around Rs 400 crore.
