Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film Nishaanchi released its first song Dear Country on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The song was composed by Dhruv Ghanekar, sung by Vijay Lal Yadav, and the lyrics were written by Pyarelal Devanath Yadav. It mixes North Indian folk music elements with English phrases and uses instruments like the tabla and harmonium. This vibrant song captures the true desi masala spirit of Nishaanchi, and it stays with you long after it ends – you really feel every beat.

I had complete freedom to match the madness and heart of Nishaanchi’s script. Anurag’s films always have a distinct sonic identity, so I wanted something fresh and unexpected. Dear Country ended up fun, quirky, rooted, and just the right amount of unfiltered.’
When is Nishaanchi set to hit theatres?
Nishaanchi is set to release on September 19. The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under Jar Pictures, in association with Flip Films. The movie has debutant Aaishvary Thackeray playing a fiery double role. Other people starring in the film are Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra.
