Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) on Friday has opened a Nandini parlour at Bengaluru’s Majestic Metro Station. The CM of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah has inaugurated the newest outlet at Majestic station. The other two are at Konanakunte Cross and Sir M. Visvesvaraya (Central College) stations.

KMF has said it will open the remaining seven parlours within the next two months. The move follows a directive from Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar in June asking KMF to participate in Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.’s (BMRCL) tender for metro kiosks, after criticism that the State government was favouring rival brand Amul. Amul had earlier been the sole applicant for the tender.

KMF has set up 175 parlours across Karnataka over the past five years. Managing Director and CEO Shivaswamy B told businessline that the cooperative is in discussions with BMRCL for rights to additional metro locations.

The corporative added that the metro parlours are aimed at attracting younger consumers and increasing trials of Nandini products.
