Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions for U-19 Girls conclude

JAMMU, Aug 23: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions for U-19 Girls in Football, Volleyball and Chess (AAG) at Khel Gaon, Nagrota.
Zone Gandhi Nagar clinched the Football U-19 Girls title by defeating Zone Satwari (2-1) in a thrilling tie-breaker. Shine and Mantesha scored for Gandhi Nagar, while Ridhima netted one for Satwari. In the Volleyball U-19 Girls category, Zone Jourian emerged victorious, beating Zone Jammu in the final (2-0). Earlier, Jammu had defeated Gandhi Nagar (2-0) and Jourian outplayed Satwari (2-0) in the semi-finals.
In Chess U-19 Girls, Arya (Zone Jammu), Sugandhi and Harshita (both from Zone Bhalwal) won their respective matches. For U-17 Girls Chess, winners included Avni and Sirat (Zone Jammu), Shireen (Gandhi Nagar) and Mishthi (Bhalwal).
These competitions were being conducted by experts of the department Tilak Parihar, Naresh Kumar, Jagjeet Singh, Amit Sharma, Harjot Kour, Rekha Devi, Ashima Mahajan, Harsimran Singh, Taranpal Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Varinder Singh, Meenakshi, Maheep Slathia, Davinder Singh, Nitin Sethi, Sunil Abrol Amit Kalsi, Kamal Singh, Priya Devi, Ajay Kumar, Rohit Gupta, Bal Krishan Bhat and Ravinder Singh including other committee convenors and technical officials of the department.
