Actor Rajesh Kumar, star of the hit musical romantic drama Saiyaara, has been winning hearts with his performances in the film. The 50-year-old actor portrayed Aneet Padda’s father and won over the audience with his engaging performance. The actor who is currently enjoying the success of Saiyaara shared his past financial struggles, revealing the challenges he faced and the lessons he learned from his experiences. In a recent podcast with Meri Saheli, Rajesh revealed that some years ago, the actor was hit with the harsh realities of the business state when he took to farming, facing Rs 2 crore debt. “I went under debt of Rs 2 crore. Bankruptcy is a big word, but definitely, I had that feeling with me for a long time. I was not able to generate money for survival.”

Rajesh Kumar revealed that he relied on his family for financial support during the time of struggle, and his family supported him when he was not earning. In an interview with Danik Bhaskar that when he returned to Mumbai from the UK after completing the shoot of Binny and Family, he couldn’t afford to bring chocolates for his kids as he didn’t have enough money. “I had Rs 2,500 in my bank account when I was in the UK. I travelled back and forth twice during that 24-day shoot, but I couldn’t bring back even two chocolates for my kids,” said Rajesh.
