Amaal Malik finally opened up about his rift with Bhushan Kumar; read further to know all about it.
Music composer Amaal Malik recently discussed his strained professional relationship with T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar , sharing that certain people may have influenced his perception of him in front of Bhushan Kumar . He addressed how refusing to compose remixes for T-Series projects caused the apparent fallout between the two parties.
Speaking on the issue with Shardul Pathak , he referred to Bhushan Kumar as an “industry father ” and acknowledged his role in shaping the singer’s career. “It’s like a very stepfather-stepson relationship. Salman Khan launched me, but Bhushan Kumar held my hand and took me to the biggest movies and production houses purely on belief in my talent. He’s completely responsible for Amaal Malik becoming Amaal Malik ,” he said.
Amaal acknowledged how his refusals were always rooted in his personal vision for his music. “My understanding about how music should be made. I tell him to his face that I won’t do certain things. He may have an ego about it – if I were that big, maybe even I would’ve had. I don’t blame him,” he said.
Amaal mentioned in his interview that he did not want to recreate classic hits like ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne ‘ and ‘ Masakali’. Instead , he wanted to focus on original work to uphold his family’s musical legacy.
Rejecting projects like these comes with a lot of repercussions . “When I left Bhushan’s hand, he left mine. He went ahead with the remixes regardless. My parents were scared, my friends were worried, and even I was in two minds about it. But I know he has a soft corner for me. When a man is very big, there will be people around him who will poison him,” Amaal also noted how he’s always been very respectful despite the rift.
Earlier this year , in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Amaal Malik claimed that his uncle Anu Malik tried to harm his career, which , in consequence, led to his father Daboo Malik’s depression, opening up about serious family and industry issues.
