Aamir Khan And Son Junaid Recreate a 90s Comedy Classic For Sitaare Zameen Par
In a delightful surprise for fans, Aamir Khan is taking an unconventional route for his latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par. To announce the film’s unique release, the superstar has teamed up with his son Junaid Khan for the very first time on-screen, paying tribute to a beloved 90s comedy classic that has the internet buzzing.
The spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par will be released exclusively on YouTube starting August 1, 2025, for a viewing price of just ₹100. And the promo announcing this move is a treat in itself.
A Hilarious Andaz Apna Apna Throwback
The new promo, conceptualized by Fever Films, is a brilliant homage to the timeless 1994 comedy Andaz Apna Apna. The video features Aamir Khan alongside his sons, Junaid Khan and Azad Khan, with a special appearance by Andaz Apna Apna‘s original director, Rajkumar Santoshi. The father-son duo recreates iconic moments from the cult film, delivering a truly unique and entertaining announcement.
Father-Son Banter Steals The Show
The promo hilariously captures a witty exchange where Junaid tries to convince his father (Aamir) to watch Sitaare Zameen Par at home. In a moment of sharp self-deprecating humor, Aamir’s character references his son’s past movie choices, declaring, “Jab jab tu khush hua hai, tab tab main barbaad hua hoon” (Whenever you have been happy, I have been ruined), with clear nods to his recent films like Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha.
On directing the legend, Vaibhav Bundhoo of Fever Films said, “Directing this ad film was like a dream come true, as I got to work with the legend Aamir khan, while using a cult favorite reference of Andaz Apna Apna & the product we are selling in the ad film is a story itself.”
Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. Meanwhile, under his banner Aamir Khan Productions, Aamir is also producing Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, and Ek Din, which will feature his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi.
