Man arrested with pistols, ammunition in Jammu’s Nagrota
Jammu, July 30: Jammu Police have arrested one person with three pistols and ammunition in the Nagrota area here in the city outskirts.

Police here today said that one person was apprehended last night at TCP Naka on bye-pass Nagrota.

The man identified as Azan Hameed Gazi, a resident of Hilalabad, Qamarwari, Srinagar, was intercepted while travelling from Jammu towards Srinagar.

During the search of the vehicle, police personnel recovered three pistols, three empty magazines, eight live cartridges, and two empty cartridges from a handbag concealed under the co-driver’s seat, he said.

He failed to produce any valid documents or licenses for the recovered arms and ammunition, said police.

Acting swiftly, police registered a case and also took him into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the origin and intended use of the weapons, the spokesman added.
