‘Ghamasaan’, ‘Saali Mohabbat’, and ‘Bun Tikki’ Selected For 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival
In some fantastic news for Indian cinema, Jio Studios is making a massive impact on the global stage! The production powerhouse has announced that an incredible three of its upcoming films have been officially selected for the prestigious 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF).
The selected films, Ghamasaan, Saali Mohabbat, and Bun Tikki, will be showcased in a special section titled ‘From India to the World.’ This is a huge honor and a testament to the diverse and powerful stories coming out of India.
Opening Night With Tisca Chopra’s ‘Saali Mohabbat’
Kicking off the festival in grand style, Saali Mohabbat has been chosen as the Opening Night Film on September 19th. The powerful drama is extra special as it marks the directorial debut of the talented actress Tisca Chopra and the production debut of celebrated fashion stylist Manish Malhotra. The film features a stellar cast led by Radhika Apte and Anurag Kashyap and tells the story of a woman’s fight against domestic violence.
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Gritty ‘Ghamasaan’ Takes Center Stage
On September 20th, the festival’s Centrepiece slot will be occupied by Ghamasaan, a tense rural thriller. The film is directed by the acclaimed Tigmanshu Dhulia, a master of telling gritty stories from India’s heartland. With the powerhouse duo of Pratik Gandhi and Arshad Warsi in the lead, this is one film that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Legends Shabana Azmi And Zeenat Aman Unite For ‘Bun Tikki’
In what is sure to be a highlight of the festival, Bun Tikki will be showcased as the Marquee Film on September 21st. The film has an incredible and legendary cast, bringing together two icons of Indian cinema, Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman, on the same screen. They are joined by the talented Abhay Deol and Nushrratt Bharuccha. This poignant urban drama, which revolves around a child’s journey with identity, is already one of the most talked-about films of the year.
