Stars Reveal Secret Prayers, Personal Struggles, And On-Set Tears
Ever since Saiyaara became a record-breaking blockbuster, fans have been desperate to know more about its lead stars, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. After a deliberate no-promotions strategy by Yash Raj Films that let their work do the talking, the nation’s new favourite on-screen couple has finally broken their silence in their first-ever joint interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, and the revelations are truly heartfelt.
The interview coincided with their stunning first magazine cover together, a reunion that sent the internet into a meltdown over their sizzling chemistry. But beyond the gorgeous pictures, the two debutants opened up about their incredible journey, full of faith, personal struggles, and a deep, emotional bond.
A Story Of Faith And Friendship
One of the most touching stories came from Aneet, who revealed the beautiful gesture Ahaan made before she was even cast in the film. She shared, “When I was auditioning for Saiyaara, Ahaan had taken me to Mount Mary Church and we’d lit a candle… A week later, I got the call that I’d gotten the role, and he said, ‘Of course, I’d wished that you’d get the role!’” This single moment shows the incredible friendship and trust that became the foundation of their on-screen magic.
Ahaan’s Personal Battle To Stardom
Ahaan Panday, who became an overnight sensation as Krish Kapoor, opened up about the difficult path that led him to his dream debut. He revealed that a few years ago, he was left shattered by the passing of his grandmother, whom he called his “backbone.” He shared that it was her dream for him to be a YRF hero. He said, “Yash Raj Films was a dream for me, it was the cinema I grew up with, the cinema my grandmother dreamed I would be a part of.”
Ahaan also expressed his happiness that his performance was what won over the audience, not a marketing campaign. He said, “One thing that made me very happy is that very rarely as an artiste does your work speak first… for the first time, in a long time has a film come first, and as an artiste that’s the best thing you could ask for.”
Tears, Trust, And Off-Screen Chemistry
Aneet Padda also shared her own vulnerabilities, revealing that she had battled “terrible anxiety and depression” for three years before Saiyaara changed her life. The film was clearly a deeply emotional journey for both actors. Aneet recalled the last day of shooting, saying, “Everyone kept saying, ‘There’s so much more to do… you will meet,’ but the point was, what we were doing for this whole year, that’s over.” She revealed that both she and Ahaan were in tears, marking the end of a special chapter. It’s this genuine off-screen bond that has fueled strong dating rumors, especially after their adorable moments at the film’s success party.
