Shah Rukh Khan And Suhana Khan’s ‘King’ Pushed To Christmas 2026 Because Of SRK’s Injury
Fans eagerly waiting for King, the next big action film from superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will have to wait a little longer. According to the latest reports, the film’s release has been postponed. The delay is due to an unfortunate shoulder injury Shah Rukh Khan suffered while shooting for the movie.
King, which will also be the big-screen debut for his daughter Suhana Khan, was originally planned for a different release window. However, SRK’s health and recovery are the top priority for the makers.
What Caused The Delay?
The shooting for King began in June this year, but it had to be put on hold recently. According to a report by Mid-day, Shah Rukh Khan injured his shoulder while filming a high-octane action sequence. As King is packed with action, the team does not want to take any risks with his health.
Doctors have advised the SRK to take a few weeks of complete rest to recover properly before he gets back in front of the camera. This break in the schedule has naturally affected King‘s original timeline.
Shah Rukh Khan’s injury was also visible during the premiere of his son, Aryan Khan’s debut for the show Ba****ds of Bollywood.
New Christmas 2026 Release Date
Initially, it was believed that the makers were aiming to release King on Gandhi Jayanti in 2026. However, due to the shooting delay, that is no longer possible. A new report suggests that the team is now looking at a Christmas 2026 release.
This new holiday slot has reportedly opened up after another major film, Vicky Kaushal’s ambitious project Mahavatar, was postponed. A Christmas release would give the team enough time to complete the shoot without rushing and also cash in on the big holiday weekend.

King is one of the most anticipated films of the coming years. It brings back the blockbuster combination of Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand after their massive success with Pathaan. The film is an action thriller produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. Besides SRK and Suhana Khan, the movie has a huge star cast, including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma in important roles.
