Rajesh Khanna and Anita Advani’s relationship has been one of those loving relationships of Bollywood that is not hidden from anyone. Especially after his death, Anita has spoken openly about her relationship with the late superstar. Recently, during an emotional conversation on ‘Reel Meet Real’, Anita told how it all started between them. She said that in those days she was a teenager and her heart beat a lot for Rajesh Khanna.
Anita Advani recalls seeing Rajesh Khanna
She said, ‘When I met him for the first time, I was a teenager. A tremendous romance started between us at a very young age. He left such a deep impression on my heart and mind that I never liked anyone else. After this, destiny did its work. We kept bumping into each other again and again. And finally, when everyone left his life and no member of his family was around, then we met again. After that, we stayed together for almost 12 years.’
Remembering Rajesh Khanna, she said- he was one in a million
In this conversation, she recalled the initial phase of their relationship and said that she was emotionally very weak then. She said, ‘I could not have imagined a better person than him. He was one in a million. The thing is that I got into a relationship with him at a very young age. Since I was from a conservative family, I thought that he was everything for me.’
She was so devoted to Rajesh Khanna
She told that when she grew up, people kept chasing her, but she was so devoted to Rajesh Khanna that she couldn’t see anyone else. She even said, ‘I started comparing and couldn’t tolerate any other man touching me, it became a mental block.’
‘Bouncers were posted there to stop me from entering’
Along with this, she also told some surprising things. Anita remembered the day when she was kept out of Rajesh Khanna ‘s Chautha. She has a lot of pain in her heart about those moments. Anita Advani said, ‘Bouncers were posted there to stop me from coming inside, I came to know this from my friends.’
‘I kept my fourth for him alone in a temple’
She said that her friends warned her that she would not be allowed inside. Anita said, ‘Still, they said that if anything happens, we are with you. Some of my staff and close friends told me to go and suggested that I take a camera so that if anything happens there, I can record it. But I thought, how can I do that at such a time, so I did not go. I kept my Chautha for them alone in a temple.’
