Actress Minu Muneer arrested by Tamil Nadu police over alleged human trafficking
Renowned actress Minu Muneer has been arrested by Tamil Nadu Police for allegedly trying to traffic a young woman into a sex mafia by promising her a role in the film industry.
On Wednesday night, actress Minu Muneer was arrested by Tamil Nadu Police for allegedly trying to traffic a young woman into a sex mafia. The actress was picked up from Aluva in Ernakulam district, where she was trying to hand over the girl to the sex mafia, who is her relative. As per multiple media reports, Minu was taken to Chennai on Thursday morning. Not only this, such incidents have happened before.
How did Minu Muneer lure the young woman?
As per reports, Minu Muneer allegedly led a woman to believe that she could assist her in entering the film industry if the woman agreed to travel with her to Tamil Nadu. However, the actress’s actual intention was to hand the woman over to a group involved in sex trafficking, referred to as a sex mafia. The investigation into this incident reportedly took place regarding an event that occurred in 2014, as stated in a report by Manorama Online.
Why was Minu Muneer arrested earlier?
Earlier, Minu Muneer was arrested by the police last month due to a defamation case filed against her by Balachandra Menon. The reason for the case was Minu’s insulting posts about Balachandra Menon on social media. After being arrested by the Kochi Infopark police, Minu Muneer was later released on bail. Minu had made allegations on social media that during the filming of ‘De Ingottu Nokkiye’, director Balachandra Menon sexually assaulted her.
The actress had also filed a police complaint against Balachandra Menon for her sexual assault. Minu’s arrest occurred after her request for anticipatory bail was rejected. The arrest was based on a complaint filed by Balachandra Menon, who alleged that Minu was defaming him. Following her arrest, Minu was released on bail with two sureties. The actress was taken into custody by the Thirumangalam police as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
