Italian CPI up 0.4% MoM, 1.7% YoY in July: Istat

Italian consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.4 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 1.7 per cent year on year (YoY) in July this year, according to a flash estimate by the official statistics agency Istat.

Core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) was 2 per cent in the month—as in June, and inflation excluding energy was 2.2 per cent compared to 2.1 per cent in June.

The YoY growth rate of goods prices was 0.8 per cent in July compared to 0.9 per cent in June.

As for goods prices, the YoY growth rate was 0.8 per cent in July compared to 0.9 per cent in June, an Istat release said.

The stabilisation of the growth on annual basis of all-item index underlies contrasting trends: the slowing down of growth on an annual basis of the prices of regulated energy products from 22.6 per cent to 17.1 per cent, and of non-regulated energy products from minus 4.2 per cent to minus 5.2 per cent.
