The long and successful partnership between superstar Ranveer Singh and Yash Raj Films has been a cornerstone of his career since his debut. His eventual departure from the YRF talent management agency naturally sparked widespread speculation about the circumstances of the split. Now, the studio’s renowned casting director, Shanoo Sharma, has broken her silence on the matter, putting all rumours of a fallout to rest.

In a candid new interview, Sharma, who is credited with discovering Singh, opened up about the professional separation, emphasizing that the move was amicable and a part of a natural career progression for the actor.

“He Needed To Move”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Shanoo Sharma clarified that there was no bitterness or hurt involved in Ranveer Singh’s decision to leave the YRF talent fold. “I don’t think there’s any bad blood as such, but he needed to move,” she stated, explaining that it was a logical step for both the actor and the production house. “There’s a reason why he must be going. There’s a reason why the production house is okay with him going.”

Sharma described the dynamics of professional relationships in the industry as cyclical, saying, “I feel things work, and then they fade, and then they start to work again and then they fade.” She also reaffirmed her strong personal bond with the actor, adding, “For me, he’s my best friend as well. So there’s nothing difficult on that front.”

A Historic Partnership

Ranveer Singh’s journey in Bollywood began spectacularly with YRF’s 2010 hit rom-com, Band Baaja Baarat. The film, produced by Aditya Chopra, was a massive success that launched Singh into stardom. This marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration that spanned over a decade and included several memorable films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Gunday.

While his departure from the talent agency marks the end of an era, Sharma’s comments confirm that the split was handled with mutual respect. Singh himself has often expressed his gratitude towards Aditya Chopra and YRF for giving him his big break and shaping his formidable career.

What’s Next For Ranveer Singh?

Now charting a new course, Ranveer Singh is embarking on some of the biggest projects of his career. He is currently gearing up for the highly anticipated action film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt.

Furthermore, Singh is set to take on one of cinema’s most iconic roles in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Stepping into a character immortalized by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, he is poised to kickstart a new chapter, proving that his departure from YRF was a strategic move towards exploring new horizons.
