Ghana has unveiled a draft policy to transform its textile industry into a $2-billion economic engine by 2033. The blueprint targets $1.2 billion in fresh investments, 150,000 jobs and the revival of cotton farming across 50,000 hectares to tackle cheap imports hitting domestic manufacturers.

At a recent stakeholder validation workshop in Accra, the country’s Deputy Trade Minister Samson Ahi reiterated the government’s strong commitment to revitalising the sector.
