Bollywood superstar Salman Khan‘s long-time bodyguard, Shera, is currently grieving the loss of his father, Sunder Singh Jolly. He passed away on Wednesday at the age of 88 after battling cancer. Shera, aka Gurmeet Singh Jolly, shared the news of his father’s demise with his fans on social media. “My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today,” he wrote.

He also mentioned the details of the final rites. The news of death came a few months after Sunder Singh’s 88th birthday. Shera had posted a heartfelt birthday message for his father’s 88th birthday and wrote, “Happy 88th birthday to the strongest man, my God my father, my inspiration! Every bit of strength in me comes from you. Love you dad always!”

Shera’s father laid to rest without Salman Khan

The funeral procession began from Shera’s residence in Andheri West, Mumbai. People gathered outside his residence to pay their last respects and offer condolences. Politician Zeeshan Siddique attended the last rites of Shera’s father. Shera has been Salman Khan’s bodyguard since the mid-90s and is one of the well-known celebrity bodyguards in the industry. Shera runs his own private security company, Tiger Security, which also provides protection to multiple celebrities. Shera was last seen in a Swiggy ad themed around Rakshabandhan.

On the work front, Salman will be seen in Battle of Galwan, which is based on the Galwan Valley clash. The movie, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, will depict the 2020 confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. Salman will play the role of Colonel B. Santosh Babu, the officer who led the 16 Bihar Regiment during the clash.
