Hyderabad: Man arrested for harassing interfaith couple at Necklace road

A man was arrested by Saifabad police in Hyderabad for harassing an interfaith couple at Necklace Road and sharing their video on social media. The video was uploaded by an Instagram account that has posted similar content. Investigation is ongoing.

HYDERABAD: The Saifabad police arrested a man who had allegedly harassed an interfaith couple at Necklace Road a few days ago.

The man who is presently jobless had previously worked at a garments store in the city.

A few days ago, the man went to Necklace Road and spotted a woman moving around with a man, reportedly belonging to another community. The suspect harassed and abused them.

He also recorded their video and circulated it on social media platforms. After the video reached the police, a case was registered, and the suspect was nabbed.

The suspect allegedly admitted that he had filmed the couple at Necklace Road and sent the video to a person who manages an Instagram account, and the latter uploaded it.

The police found that many such videos were uploaded on the Instagram account. The police are investigating.
