Chennai Nearly Sold Out, Kolkata and Jaipur To See Packed Theatres Tomorrow

Directed by Shazia Iqbal and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, Dhadak 2 is all set to hit cinemas tomorrow, August 1, 2025. But the buzz has already reached fever pitch as advance bookings are surging across the country, with the film heading towards a housefull opening in several key cities.
Chennai Shows Nearly Full Ahead of Release
The biggest surprise has come from Chennai, where advance bookings are nearly sold out. Most shows for the first day are already running housefull, reflecting the film’s unexpected pull in the southern metro. This overwhelming demand signals a strong pan-India appeal for the sequel.
Jaipur and Kolkata Join the Frenzy
Apart from Chennai, other cities like Jaipur and Kolkata are also witnessing a ticketing rush. Theatres are reporting packed houses for the opening day, especially for evening and night shows. The fresh pairing of Siddhant and Triptii, along with the socially charged love story, is clearly connecting with audiences across regions.

Over 100K Users Show Interest Online

As per BookMyShow data, over 108.6K users have marked themselves as interested in Dhadak 2, while more than 9.59K tickets have already been booked on BookMyShow in the last 24 hours alone. The film is trending on ticketing platforms and is expected to register a strong Day 1 occupancy.
All Eyes on Dhadak 2’s Release Tomorrow
With a runtime of 2 hours 26 minutes and a UA16+ rating, Dhadak 2 follows the story of Neelesh, an idealistic law student from a marginalised background, who enters an elite university and falls in love while confronting deep-rooted social and systemic biases. The film explores love and class divide through a more realistic and hard-hitting lens than its predecessor.
Unlike Dhadak (2018), which was a glossy remake of Sairat, this sequel has no direct connection to the original. It offers a standalone narrative with a sharper socio-political backdrop. Shazia Iqbal’s direction has already been praised for its grounded treatment in promos, and Siddhant and Triptii’s pairing is being seen as a refreshing departure from the usual pairings.
If the current advance trends continue, Dhadak 2 could emerge as a strong opener for a Hindi romantic drama this year.
