Fake Degrees, Job Scams & PRCs: Crime Branch Nets 10 in Multi-Crore Frauds
Jammu Tawi: Crime Branch Jammu has filed six charge-sheets in separate high-profile cases involving job fraud, fake certificates, real estate scams, and forged domicile documents. Ten accused individuals, including a retired Forester and a school education department employee, are named.
A charge-sheet was filed against retired Forester Raghubir Singh, son of Sandoor Singh of Sungal Morh, Akhnoor, for availing promotion using a fake graduation degree. The case was initiated on a complaint from the Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu.
Another charge-sheet has been submitted against Dhanvir Singh, a Chowkidar at Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal, for obtaining his job using forged qualification and date of birth certificates.
In a major real estate scam, Anil Kumar Nanda and Aman Nanda from Pathankot have been charge-sheeted for defrauding a complainant of ₹54.5 lakh by selling fake properties.
Two more charge-sheets involve accused Ghulam Rasool Wani, Shamim Dar, and three others (including two women) for cheating individuals of ₹24 lakh under the guise of offering jobs in J&K Bank and SBI.
In another case, Crime Branch filed a charge-sheet posthumously against an accused from Gandhi Nagar for obtaining a fake Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC). The case was pursued following a complaint from the Revenue Department.
SSP Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh, confirmed that charge-sheets have been filed in FIR Nos. 21/2002, 24/2022, 52/2022, 13/2024, 02/2025, and 24/2025 for legal proceedings.
